New Kickstart with Me! launches on Thursday next

Hello Reader

Towards the end of last year, I ran my first Kickstarter campaign, to help me to create new new Go Creative! planners and programs for authors.

The campaign was a huge surprise, with 348 backers funding it by more than 1000%, raising an incredible £25,429 and enabling me to go way beyond my original creative intentions for the project.

I learned a lot--about the Kickstarter platform, and about crowdfunding in general--and I now intend to always use a crowdfunding campaign to launch my novels.

My next project is very different. A Life Before is a true-life, historical novel about an English heiress turned Irish revolutionary, Maud Gonne, and the world-famous poet whom she inspired, WB Yeats.

This next campaign will launch in July, and I'm going to work with a small group of authors to launch our Kickstarters together, through a new Patreon program called "Kickstart With Me."

About "Kickstart With Me!"

Join me and let's bring our ideas to life with Kickstarter, together.

Each month, I'll:

  • share insights from my own experience
  • provide behind-the-scenes access to my next project
  • answer your questions
  • give guidance that I hope will help you in assembling your own Kickstarter campaign.

I have 20 places available (in addition to those already subscribed through my Kickstarter campaign). It will be first come, first served.

We'll meet on the last Thursday of the month, at 19.00 UTC. The calls will be recorded and issued in replay shortly afterwards.

You'll also be entitled to all the other benefits of my Go Creative! planning program, including a monthly planning workshop, weekly accountability group and more.

Hello Reader, Welcome to your monthly self-publishing round-up, bringing you the latest from the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), the Self-Publishing Advice Center, and the Go Creative! planning programs for authors. A slight delay in transmission this month, as the ALLi team were out and about more than usual, and set back with some illness and family issues. We decided to hold your newsletter over until after Easter, in case it got lots among the resurrection rituals or chocolate...
