Creative Planning for Authors: How's your Email Energy?

Published about 1 month ago • 3 min read

Hello Reader,

Kayleigh here, I hope you had a great Easter / Oestre / Passover / Chocofest.

This is an email to let you know that Orna Ross's next live creative planning workshop is set to take place tomorrow, Thursday 4th April at 5pm (UTC).

These workshops are run through Patreon and are Orna's way of offering more personal attention than she can offer through ALLi.

Across the quarter to come, the planning workshops' focus is on email marketing.

Q2 2024 Go Creative! Planning Workshops: Optimise Your Email Energy

Orna says: "I see the email ecosystem around your books as an electrical network, carrying the energy of your author values to your readers. Across this quarter, you will elevate and expand both your own energy for emailing, and the energy embedded in your emails."

Early in the quarter, the focus will be on fixing any breaks in your sign-ups, autoresponders, and author newsletters. As the quarter progresses, we'll be activating and optimising your communications for wider reach and greater ROI.

  • April 24: ACCESSing The Right Reader: Getting out of your author head to walk in your reader's shoes then setting up / fixing any breaks in your ACCESS marketing.
  • May 24: Activating Author Values in Your Emails: Aligning your books, your author mission, and your publishing model with your email plans. Awakening and infusing the right energy into your words, before you write to your readers and followers.
  • Jun 24: Optimising: Using emails about your books (both your backlist and the book you’re currently working on) to draw readers closer and join a street team.

You'll do much of the work there and then, in the workshops. You'll have all your questions answered, and you'll go away with clear homework.

The workshop offers personalized advice, group discussions, and Orna's expert insights on merging creativity with commerce.

She will guide you through a variety of f-r-e-e-writing exercises that will greatly enhance your writing, your publishing, and your planning process as you work through 2024.

Once registered, you’ll be provided with full details of how to prepare and attend.

Happy planning!

Kayleigh

Issue #1 New Kickstart with Me! launches on Thursday next Hello Reader Towards the end of last year, I ran my first Kickstarter campaign, to help me to create new new Go Creative! planners and programs for authors. The campaign was a huge surprise, with 348 backers funding it by more than 1000%, raising an incredible £25,429 and enabling me to go way beyond my original creative intentions for the project. I learned a lot--about the Kickstarter platform, and about crowdfunding in general--and...
